The Scissors

Sometimes called "Shears", the Scissors are often underestimated in modern RPS.

But What Are Scissors?
Scissors symbolize creation, interaction with the world. It's a tool which allows you to change the shape of many things. Since it has sharp, pointy ends (phallic) and holes to put your fingers in, it's also a symbol of sexuality. While the Rock is masculine and the Paper feminine, the Scissors are both (notice they are composed of two similar, complementary but different items. This duality strengthens the sexual connotation). It's therefore a way to affirm one's full polyvalency and one's independance.
"Scissors Players" usually are sensitive yet deadly opponents.
How To Defeat Them
The only way to beat Scissors is to throw a Rock
Scissors Openings
Since beginners often play Rock on the first throw, Scissors is more used against experienced RPS players. It's more agressive than the Paper, maybe, due to the pointed fingers, but this agression is perceived as a clever, respectful opening. It's also a way to tell you're opponent you consider him as a skilled and subtle player, who won't play the too classical Rock. When playing the Urbanus Defense against newcomers, it's also the most clever choice. (Urbanus Defense against experienced players should open with a Rock, unless a deep sicilian reasoning is adopted.)
